Bombs in the Desert

This raid is based on the historical raid show in the scene prior to TE Lawrence joining the Arab forces shown in the movie Lawrence of Arabia.

Our aircraft today bombed the forces of the Hejaz at one of their camp near Yenbo. We are confident that these Arabs are now scattered and will be of little concern to our Ottoman allies.

Additional missions will be conducted to ascertain the strengths in the region.

Now for what really happened…

I ran a playtest using a new set of bombing rules for the TOOFATLardies Algy rules. Today two Rumpler C.I launched a raid on an Arab camp near Yenbo.

While the rules are still a work in progress, we are very happy with the results.

In this raid the Germans made two passes over the camp and the troops and the camps were bombed heavily. While the bombs caused confusion amongst the Arabs the net result was some sore Arabs and little damage. A result that is not surprising.

One Response to Bombs in the Desert

  1. I’m not going to give you any money, but this triggered a delightful memory. When I was a kid I used to set up GI Joe figures and various scenery bits from train sets and then take photo sequences, a sort of low-tech animation. As an adult I became a photographer and an editor. You never know where these hobbies will lead to.
