B.E.2c

First painted editions for the RFC are ready to take t the sky. Here is one of two RFC’s B.E.2c. Decals are pending but I am very pleased with the results so far.

For those that are not aware of this little gem, this aircraft was use in combat throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Service in the air forces of most European powers as well as Australia and the United States.

This very stable plane was useful for reconnaissance and artillery spotting. Its stability was also its greatest weakness. The B.E.2 was unable to compete in the battles overs northern France against the Fokker Eindecker.

The aircraft is from Shapeways, Design by colinwe, printed using WSF (White, Strong & Flexible) material.

  1. “B.E.2c Green Fields Beyond” was indeed a
superb blog. If only there was much more weblogs just like this
particular one in the actual internet. Regardless, thank you for
    your time, Gertrude
